{"id":10139,"date":"2025-11-02T16:42:00","date_gmt":"2025-11-02T16:42:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kergudon.com\/?p=10139"},"modified":"2025-11-02T16:42:01","modified_gmt":"2025-11-02T16:42:01","slug":"sunday-02-november-youve-been-framed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kergudon.com\/fr\/sunday-02-november-youve-been-framed\/","title":{"rendered":"Sunday 02 November \u2013 You\u2019ve Been Framed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>At the end of <a href=\"https:\/\/kergudon.com\/fr\/sunday-19-october-red-sky-in-the-morning\/\">my last blog<\/a>, I said that the forecast was looking decidedly autumnal which should have allowed me to make a start with the framing and plaster boarding of the pool house.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, it also said that we had a family arrive in Priory for the school half term and I didn\u2019t want to make too much noise and dust if they were going to use the pool.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As things turned out, the autumnal weather arrived with my namesake storm, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thelocal.fr\/20251023\/storm-benjamin-lashes-france-with-winds-of-up-to-160-km-h\">Temp\u00eate Benjamin<\/a>, making rather more of an impact and change on the planet than I managed here!  Thankfully we were spared the worst of it and it impacted other areas of France more than it did here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We were delighted to see the pool get used a lot when the weather prevented more outdoor activities but it also meant I didn\u2019t make the progress with the plasterboard that I would have wanted during the week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We finished the week sociably when some friends invited us to their village\u2019s refurbished bar.&nbsp; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 574\/416;\" data-original-sizes=\"(max-width: 574px) 100vw, 574px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>It was a fun night and we have definitely added the venue, <a href=\"https:\/\/linktr.ee\/lacroisee_loperec\">La Crois\u00e9e<\/a>, to our growing list of fun bars to visit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite the poor weather during the week, we managed one of our Sunday strolls and headed to the coast on the opposite bank of the Rade de Brest from the city itself.&nbsp; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 579\/348;\" data-original-sizes=\"(max-width: 579px) 100vw, 579px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Le <a href=\"https:\/\/relecture.patrimoine.bzh\/dossier\/IA29004717\">fort has 17<sup>th<\/sup> century origins<\/a> but had evidently been heavily changed and reinforced in WW2 as the ideal spot to defend the military port of Brest, it was intriguing to look around and explore \u2013 although we didn\u2019t take many photos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thankfully, while we had a second family with us in Priory for the second week of school half-term, I was able to make much better progress on the framework for the plasterboard in the pool house.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It has taken longer than I\u2019d anticipated because I have decided to attach the uprights to the breeze block wall to ensure it is totally solid.&nbsp;
