Remember, Remember"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/kergudon.com\/fr\/sunday-29th-october-the-tour-is-coming\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Last week\u2019s blog<\/a> mentioned that I hadn\u2019t had the most productive week as we were enjoying the company of our friends \u2013 thankfully this week has seen a lot more achieved.\u00a0 While it did say that I had completed the wood store, I said that the plan was to continue digging around Grange so that we could, eventually, lay gravel and that the forecast was looking good for me to be able to do that.<\/p>\n<p>As it turned out the weather was beautiful for late October \/ early November and I did spend all of Monday and Tuesday continuing with my digging and levelling.\u00a0 One of the things I most frequently say in my blogs (other than the \u2018it hasn\u2019t been a very productive week\u2019 thing!) is that I underestimated the amount of time it would take to complete something.\u00a0 This has certainly turned out to be the case with the levelling around Grange although, while it has taken longer than hoped for, I still think it will have been worth doing and will make for a much better job when complete \u2013 not to mention the training I am getting for another future project \u2013 building a pond, although that is way down the list &#8230;\u00a0 When we get the gravel down I will be able to \u2018plumb in\u2019 some water containers that we have bought and sort out the downpipes properly!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/kergudon.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/Digging-Efforts-2.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-2668 lazyload\" data-src=\"http:\/\/kergudon.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/Digging-Efforts-2-224x300.jpg\" alt=\"Levelling the ground around Grange at Kergudon Gites in Finistere\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 224px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 224\/300;\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I am now in a position that I can start building a new slate wall against what will be the edge of the new man-cave when built, and using some of the large slate slabs that we have unearthed.\u00a0 The latter will need to wait until the end of next week when David has a friend around to do PT together \u2013 I reckon lifting a couple of hundredweight of slate should make for a good training session!<\/p>\n<p>While I was digging the animals seemed to take pleasure in watching my hard labour while soaking up the sun on their new favourite vantage point of the Grange stairs.\u00a0 Mouse has always been more affectionate than we had anticipated as she is an outdoor cat, and she has even made friends with the dogs \u2013 when they are not being too boisterous.\u00a0 I managed to get this photo of them together, sort of, although it\u2019s not as good as Millie\u2019s were last week.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/kergudon.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/Animal-Happy-Families.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-2667 lazyload\" data-src=\"http:\/\/kergudon.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/Animal-Happy-Families-300x220.jpg\" alt=\"Mouse, Brandon and Garratt watching the workers from their new favourite spot in the sun!\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 300px;
