{"id":2821,"date":"2019-04-28T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2019-04-28T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.kergudon.com\/https-www-kergudon-com-sunday-28-april-cold-er\/"},"modified":"2020-05-12T15:55:41","modified_gmt":"2020-05-12T15:55:41","slug":"sunday-28-april-cold-er","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kergudon.com\/fr\/sunday-28-april-cold-er\/","title":{"rendered":"Sunday 28 April &#8211; Cold &#8211; er"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I mentioned at the end of <a href=\"https:\/\/kergudon.com\/fr\/sunday-21-april-chickened-out\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">last week\u2019s blog<\/a> that David\u2019s parents were to arrive with us on Easter Monday. \u00a0This they did bringing lots of gifts and things that we wanted (items we had ordered from the UK, such as new forks, which they kindly take delivery of, store and deliver during their visits) as well as something we didn\u2019t \u2013 a cold virus!<\/p>\n<p>David has been fortunate not to have been affected by the virus but it hit me so I haven\u2019t had a terribly productive week other than one task.<\/p>\n<p>We have however, despite the more spring-like weather than we have recently enjoyed, had a good week getting out and about to some new, and some familiar, places.<\/p>\n<p>Easter Monday was dry and the hottest day of the week and the day the annual March\u00e9 sur l\u2019Eau. Normally held in the car park next to barrage of the Lac du Drennec, this year they found some other water and for the first time it was held at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.maison-de-la-riviere.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Maison de la Rivi\u00e8re<\/a> in Sizun.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kergudon.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/Marche.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-4010 lazyload\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.kergudon.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/Marche-300x191.jpg\" alt=\"Sizun Marche sur l'eau 2019\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 300px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 300\/191;\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Maison was a good location as it afforded a little more space for the stalls and dining tables to spread out and the decent weather ensured it was well attended.\u00a0 This region and area are proud of their local food, crafts and produce, many of which could be bought on the stalls, but a main focus of the market is lunch of local food enjoyed together.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kergudon.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/Marche-sur-LEau.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-4009 lazyload\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.kergudon.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/Marche-sur-LEau-300x217.jpg\" alt=\"Sizun Marche sur l'eau 2019\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 300px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 300\/224;\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>While David\u2019s parents have been with us we have visited a couple of places we haven\u2019t been to in our 4 years here.<\/p>\n<p>On Wednesday we travelled out to Cap Sizun and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pointeduraz.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Pointe du Raz<\/a>.\u00a0 While this is just over an hour and a half from us, it is a very dramatic spot to visit especially so in a stiff wind.\u00a0 With all the interesting towns around such as Audierne, Douarnenez, Locronon and Quimper, it makes for a great day out.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kergudon.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/Pointe-du-Raz.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-4011 lazyload\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.kergudon.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/Pointe-du-Raz-300x65.jpg\" alt=\"Pointe de Raz\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 300px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 300\/207;\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>A place we have visited often before is Morlaix but, amazingly, we had never been to their acclaimed Saturday market held in the old market square.\u00a0 Sadly I didn\u2019t take any pictures but the market was excellent and, focussed mainly on fresh produce, there was lots of fabulous fruit, vegetables, fish, cheeses and meats.\u00a0 Delicious.<\/p>\n<p>From the market we continued north to the pretty seaside town of Carantec on the west side of the bay of Morlaix and for lunch at a restaurant we have been recommended a number of times \u2013 <a href=\"http:\/\/chez-gaby-les-retrouvailles.wifeo.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Chez Gaby<\/a>.\u00a0 Finally we made it and it is definitely worth a trip.\u00a0 Chez Gaby is one of 3 restaurants with an excellent location facing one of the white sand Carantec beaches and has a great menu and atmosphere.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kergudon.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/Carantec.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-4006 lazyload\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.kergudon.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/Carantec-300x208.jpg\" alt=\"Carantec beach, Finistere\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 300px;
