{"id":5090,"date":"2021-01-10T17:54:33","date_gmt":"2021-01-10T17:54:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.kergudon.com\/?p=5090"},"modified":"2021-01-10T17:54:34","modified_gmt":"2021-01-10T17:54:34","slug":"sunday-10-january-slow-start","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kergudon.com\/fr\/sunday-10-january-slow-start\/","title":{"rendered":"Sunday 10 January &#8211; Slow Start"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Looking back over the last week I have to admit that we\u2019re making a slow start to 2021.&nbsp; That is perhaps not ideal when we have a long list of projects to accomplish and things we want to progress.&nbsp; I haven\u2019t spoken about my \u2018To Do\u2019 list for some time but, rest assured it continues to have as many things added as it does removed when I complete anything!&nbsp; The discrete list of jobs remains in excess of 130 \u2013 and that doesn\u2019t even cover the items that we have put into the \u2018Medium Term\u2019 list.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The past week has included a number of those beautifully bright and crisp winter mornings with clear skies, not a cloud in sight and brilliant sunshine.\u00a0 It does of course mean that we have woken to a number of frosts as a result of those clear skies which has made the countryside magical. --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 309\/206;\" data-original-sizes=\"(max-width: 309px) 100vw, 309px\" \/><figcaption>Brandon on his favourite rock!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>In the past 6 years when we have taken the dogs for a walk in hunting season while we were careful, we weren\u2019t completely aware of the specific rules around who can hunt when.\u00a0 We were told that the Saint Cadou forest, as our other favourite the forest of Cranou, are state owned \u2018For\u00eats domaniale\u2019 that are very closely regulated and we have now found <a href=\"http:\/\/www1.onf.fr\/++lang++en\/centre-ouest-aquitaine\/sommaire\/jours-chasses\/chasse_bretagne\/20121109-104251-902157\/@@index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">where to look<\/a> to check to see when the hunts take place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It seems that it isn\u2019t just us who appreciates walking through this beautiful region of Finist\u00e8re and the Monts D\u2019Arr\u00e9e specifically, as there have been a couple of articles published recently highlighting the attractions of the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One, combined the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lesvoyagesdemat.com\/blog-voyage-france\/bretagne\/randonnee-monts-arree\/?fbclid=IwAR2wBQGeLF9DQLEgxR03I5V7Vl_X1ZivVgkUnB6r_wJ2J9N-R7P3qI8bRqM\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">delights of walking with its culinary heritage<\/a> and the writer met up with a close neighbour of ours, Patrick Herv\u00e9, who amongst many of his achievements, has written a number of books on the Breton cuisine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also, the esteemed newspaper, Le Figaro, wrote an article recognising both the Monts D\u2019Arr\u00e9e and the forest of Huelgoat, 15 minutes from us, as 2 of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lefigaro.fr\/voyages\/conseils\/nos-conseils-pour-visiter-les-10-plus-beaux-sites-naturels-de-bretagne-20201210\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">10 most beautiful places in Brittany<\/a>.\u00a0 While we might be biased, we couldn\u2019t agree more and think this is truly a beautiful region to visit and that Kergudon is the ideal base for you to explore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Next week we should be able to make a little more progress in the projects that we need to achieve and it is warming up a little \u2013 but so too getting a bit wetter!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Salut.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Looking back over the last week I have to admit that we\u2019re making a slow start to 2021.&nbsp;
