{"id":6062,"date":"2021-02-28T17:21:18","date_gmt":"2021-02-28T17:21:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.kergudon.com\/?p=6062"},"modified":"2021-02-28T17:21:20","modified_gmt":"2021-02-28T17:21:20","slug":"sunday-28-february-spring-has-sprung","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kergudon.com\/fr\/sunday-28-february-spring-has-sprung\/","title":{"rendered":"Sunday 28 February  &#8211; Spring has Sprung"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Since <a href=\"https:\/\/kergudon.com\/fr\/sunday-21-february-thawing-out\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">last week\u2019s blog<\/a> the focus has been on continuing the garage clearout and preparing g\u00eetes for guests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We continue to be encouraged by the number of guests who are joining us for a spring getaway as last week Priory and Hayloft were occupied and they remain so for another week with Granary having guests next weekend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I haven\u2019t shown you pictures of the garage clearout for a couple of weeks as I wanted it to show some sort of progress from the chaos at the <a href=\"https:\/\/kergudon.com\/fr\/sunday-24-january-chaos-clutter-clear-and-clean\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">end of January<\/a>.\u00a0 While I can\u2019t now show you a fully finished garage with graveled and concreted bays and doors fitted where they are planned, I hope you can see that we have made significant progress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image is-style-default\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.kergudon.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Centre-bays.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6057 lazyload\" width=\"307\" height=\"230\" data-srcset=\"https:\/\/kergudon.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Centre-bays.jpg 640w, https:\/\/kergudon.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Centre-bays-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/kergudon.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Centre-bays-16x12.jpg 16w\" data-sizes=\"auto\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 307px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 307\/230;\" data-original-sizes=\"(max-width: 307px) 100vw, 307px\" \/><figcaption>Central garage bays &#8211; much clearer and more organised than before<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>I have (finally) managed to kindle all of the wood that I am unlikely to use for anything else, although this has still left me with a healthy number of planks and lengths of good usable material.\u00a0 I have also managed to do one trip to the d\u00e9chetterie trying to be ruthless in what I am throwing away with at least one more to follow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The southern end garage bay, the one we will plan to concrete as we have the northern end, is almost completely empty, and should be cleared next week. --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 640\/174;\" data-original-sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><figcaption>Monts D&#8217;Arr\u00e9e from Monts Saint Michel de Brasparts (left) towards R\u00e9servoir de Saint-Michel<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>We parked in the <a href=\"http:\/\/lafermedantea.fr\/#!\/page_home\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ferme d\u2019Antea<\/a> which David and I have never visited despite having driven past it frequently.\u00a0 It is an art gallery and, in non-COVID times, a teashop.\u00a0 There are so many artisans and creators in and around the Monts D\u2019Arr\u00e9e it would be difficult to know where to look for their work but this space seemed to have many represented displaying pottery, painting, sculpture and jewellery.\u00a0 It\u2019s well worth a visit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The warm dry weather is forecast to continue for a couple of days yet, so we will shift focus to the garden and cut back all of the hydrangeas, probably reduce the height of a couple of hedges and, hopefully, get the lawns cut for the first time this year.&nbsp;
